The Rainbow Connection

Apparently Mother Nature didn't get the memo about it being June. Its been raining every few days around here. Oh well. So I didn't get to play outside. I still got this way cool picture of a double rainbow at Lake Chabot this morning.

Just like the falling rainbow,

Just like the stars in the sky,

Life should never feel small.

Lake Chabot Bike Loop

Today was my second complete trip around "The Loop" with Tracy. Its getting easier each time.

We stopped along the top of a ridge overlooking the lake to take this picture when I felt a sharp sting on my backside. I yelled out "Ow! My ass!" in perfect Cartman fashion as I swatted at the area. That kamikaze bastard of a yellow jacket didn't live to tell the tale. I think it might have been attracted to my flowery deodorant. I was buzzed by several of them during the trip. Live and learn.

We almost ran over a baby rattlesnake that was sunning himself on the trail. I cornered the lil guy with some leaves so he would stay put for a picture. Tracy commented "Now I know how all those people get bit..."

We had a bit of a scare when Tracy's bike shifted hard during a steep climb. She got thrown forward and slammed her forearm against the handlebars. Normally, this would be kind of funny, but her forearm is held together by some recently installed plates and six screws. Basically she hit metal on metal. She was not a happy camper. She's gonna go buy some kind of forearm guard until all that hardware is removed.

Quote of the Day: "I hate my jubblies." - Tracy, referring to two certain bouncing parts of her anatomy.
