Say ya to da U.P, eh!

On July 28, my Grandmother passed away somewhat unexpectedly so I had to put off the annual family trip to Las Vegas and head up north to the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.

If anything good at all came out of this, it was the fact that I got to spend some time in the U.P. during the summer. I haven't had the opportunity to do this in about seven years. Thats because seven years ago, my other Grandmother happened to pass away. July seems to be jinxed...

I spent a lot of time geocaching over the course of several days. I went with my brother, my folks, and my cousins Sheila and Wanda. We had a lot of fun roaming around in the woods and seeing the sights. The weather was great. The countryside was gorgeous. Even the fungus was pretty!

One of the geocaches we went after was just a few miles from my parent's house on Ogontz Bay. I really wanted to go fishing like we used to do when I was growing up, but things were still too hectic with Grandma. I really wish I would have brought my kayak. The bay waters were awesomely still.
